    When I consider any purchase I consider performance, quality and long term durability.

    Our Miele appliances in Australia have been fault free since 1996, and still work as well today as they did when they were first installed. But yes you do pay for that level of reliability up front. Vacuum cleaners are no different, but to be honest, I dont think Miele vacuum cleaners are priced all that high, they compete well for what they are, and if looked after should last a lifetime. The only thing you might need to do after 1o or so years of regular use is replace the carbon brushes, and possibly a fatigued power cord retract/return spring. that's about all that goes wrong with them, which are general wear and tear items that can be easily replaced at a small cost..
