    Amazon.com and Electronics

    Hi everyone,

I went to the Wanchai Computer Market to look for a computer monitor (Samsung UHD590 or U28HD590 for those who care). The prices are all fairly steep compared to the US. They quoted me around HKD6400 (~USD 825). It is currently on Amazon.com in the US for $599.99 + $84 to ship it ($124 for priority shipping). So even if I selected the 2-4 day shipping, it is still considerably cheaper (you can count in a little on top for a power adapter plug too).

    My questions are:

Is amazon reliable for this? They say they take care of the import duties and door-to-door delivery but I wanted to hear some experiences and opinions.

Will I have customs issues having this delivered to me?

    Thanks!

Found your monitor on price.com.hk for 4400 HKD / ~USD570

    Samsung U28D590D - LCD Monitor - 週邊 - 電腦 - 香港格價網 Price.com.hk

I would just call one of the vendors and confirm the price and then you should be all set.

Oh nice! I wonder if I could haggle them down at the Wanchai place since it's closer to me... Thank you for the tip!

If you show the seller in Wan Chai computer centre the price on the website they'll probably match it if they can - from my experience they're usually happy to do this.

FYI - I'm selling a 24 Inch Dell monitor at the moment for a quarter of the price of the one you're looking at - purchased from Wan Chai computer centre a year ago - if you're interested PM me.

Thanks for the offer mrnick! I'll unfortunately have to pass, I'm looking for a 4K monitor to increase desktop space. Thanks for the help! I'll give that a try!
