    www.marksandspencers.com

I've seen a few of the usual 'where to get clothes' threads popping up here and on the expat oriented FB pages...

I do all my clothes shopping at www.marksandspencers.com these days and the service is brilliant...I just had 3 new shirts delivered that I ordered on Friday...DHL delivery to my office, 15 quid.

Worth a look...especially if you need *ahem* elastic waists in the Chinos these days...

    Mamba

One for the ladies with the larger cup size or longer legs as well. Ordered Sunday and delivered this morning. Very good service, have never sent anything back though.

It would be even better if they didn't charge VAT. I took this up with them before. It seems that they charge everyone the same price but don't pass everything on to HRMC (i.e. pocket the extra), a bit like what Boots etc. do at UK airports.

"Do prices on the website include VAT?
All prices for items delivered within the EU include VAT where applicable. The VAT charged will be either VAT in the country of delivery (rates will vary by country but our prices remain unchanged) or UK VAT.

VAT isn’t charged for goods and services delivered outside the EU, but we maintain one price for each item on our website."

A few guys had this argument about 'chain reaction' (online bike gear)...but they're cheaper as they do worldwide delivery free, ditto thebookdepository...I still feel M&S are cheaper/more convenient...

I order Lego Education stuff from a company in Luxembourg and, after some resistance, managed to get them not to charge me VAT...even with the quite high delivery charge I could almost retail the stuff now compared to the HK prices...

I wonder how they get away with it? Huge company...must be some loophole??

Agreed, M&S isn't the only one but I've been ordering from Chain Reaction for the last five years and have never paid VAT. The prices automatically become cheaper when you change the country of delivery.
