Even buying directly from Amazon doesn't guarantee you get the real thing.

Furthermore, Amazon's commingled inventory option bundles together products from different sellers, meaning that a counterfeit jacket could be sent to an Amazon facility by one merchant and actually sold by another.

What Happens After Amazon’s Domination Is Complete? Its Bookstore Offers Clues
It is not the sort of book a doctor should puzzle over, wondering, “Is that a ‘1’ or a ‘7’ in the recommended dosage?” But that is exactly the possibility that has haunted the guide’s publisher, Antimicrobial Therapy, for the past two years as it confronted a flood of counterfeits
The company, whose books were sold to Amazon by distributors, did test buys. It got some copies from Amazon and others from its third-party sellers, including UsedText4u, Robinhood Book Foundation and 24x7 Book. Of the 34 books that Mr. Kelly bought, at least 30 were counterfeit.
“It is your responsibility to ensure that your content doesn’t violate laws or copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights,” it tells prospective publishers and sellers.
“If you’re going to counterfeit a book, you’d pick something by Dan Brown or Neil Gaiman,” Mr. Lendino said. “You don’t pick a tech guy writing about a 40-year-old computer.” Things got weirder...

That's because most people are too dumb to only order things that are sold and shiped by Amazon. On rare occasions they will source something that is fake but 99 percent of the time the product is first rate and you can't beat the price and service IMO. Fakes would be something like a battery for smartphone or cable. Other than that very rare based on purchasing hundreds of items since Amazon launched into business.

Then why does Amazon list those crap products ?

Amazon used its name to suddenly allow other sellers without making that clear. It used to be only Amazon products.

The products are clearly marked as sold by other than Amazon. Should they do a better job of vetting vendors? Probably. But should the customer learn how to read? Required. It's clearly marked.
