How much will it cost to buy wooden boards in Hong Kong on average?

Im a student working on a school project and I have a small scale project

    Dimensions will approximately be:
    40 cm tall
    40 cm long
    3 to 5 cm wide

I would like to ask approximately how much I would expect to be charged for the wood I will purchase for this project? I plan to use MDF wood.

    Thanks a lot

Plywood is more commonly available here.

Walk into any of the dozen board supply stores in every neighborhood and ask them for pricing.

And take a sketch with you. You may need to screw two boards together to get the thickness you need. Also they may convert it into inches.

I haven't seen any MDF in Hong Kong, but the as-is section in IKEA might have some.

Most stores sell large 8' x 4' pieces of plywood and blockboard; they will cut it for you but you still need to buy the whole thing.

There are a few stores in Bute Street, Lockhart Road, and Au Pui Wan road.

On average for 6/8" thick plywood its $210-220; for 1/2" thick plywood its $140-160.

If you find the boards too big one shop in Bute Street sells wood scraps too. This is the one.

You might need to consider renting a pickup truck if you are carrying lots of wood.
