    This was a message from a Japanese colleague: if you are going to send us a gift please send us food because our apartments are too small for stuff we don’t need.

    Ok, I got some mooncake boxes today for around $160 each from Fusion/Taste. They look really nice and I hope they will travel well. They clearly say "Made in Hong Kong" on the box, too! I got some individual mooncakes for more "minor" thank-yous, and a box of wife cakes for an office for $88 ($10 each, 8 total, +$8 box) from Kee Wah.

    Don't know how I can wrap a box nicely enough for a Japanese gift.

    Really can't say enough how remarkable the hospitality and generosity was in Japan. A box of mooncakes hardly thanks them enough...
