Check out “TaoBao Focus” website. From what I gather it’s the English friendly version. That’s what I used but didn’t see the variety I get on Ali. I paid for a few items just to check it out but think I still have to pay shipping. Takes some getting used to and I’m still figuring it out. I’m also going to check out buy@ndsh1p that it_guy recommended.
    Come back AliExpress!

With a little bit of reverse searching images through the app.. You can find the same product on TaoBao for cheaper.

Ship to a China warehouse (we use top express) and it arrives in days.
Just tried this for the first time for a small, cheap package, and it was not quite as painful as expected (still have to make liberal use of cut and paste into Google Translate though). Certainly less painful than the previous times I tried.

Now I'll wait and see if it works... I guesstimate there's a more than 50% chance that it'll get through to me eventually

Google does not work so well on non-Mandarin. I did a how to Topexpress a while ago:

    You can change #6 from:

6.) Enter the courier name and track # on the Topexpress website

    to

6.) Enter the courier name and track # and item description for customs on the Topexpress website

From the many delivery options I always use 工商區 越豐快遞 (正常1-2工作天), which arrives usually the next day.

@flameproof - edited that post and pulled a couple into their own sticky thread in this forum.
