    Broadway mark up price?

I stopped by Broadway in CWB to see if they have playstation portal which they did. But I was suprised they were selling it for $400 higher than official price. I thought store like Broadway should sell it as per official price for HK region but they dont, and the mark up is rather high. Is this a common practice in HK?

Sony have recently put up prices in most countries, but you might be able to get stock from some places at the old prices. The US hasn’t increased prices.

Official sellers are listing just under 2K

    Fortress @$1580

Broadway pricing reflect the current prices.

I prefer using the bigger chains (Broadway, Fortress) just because I feel more comfortable about any post-sale issues being dealt with decently. And I've always found that referring in front of the sales people to price.com.hk tends to get the price reasonably close (although not matching) the prices from smaller retailers shown there. (I mean in general, not specifically for Playstations). They do have some haggling scope; sometimes in money, sometimes in freebies.

See, fortress is selling with the official price. Not sure why Broadway acts like a scalper and jack up the price.

You probably won’t be able to buy from Fortress, as it’s out of stock.

The new prices were announced by Sony in Japan recently. Most countries have increased pricing apart from USA.

Shops in SSP are selling at the new price of $19xx (行貨) with grey imports (水貨) from $16xx.

You can try calling some of the authorised PlayStation dealers or even the Sony Store 2833 5129 ( for their current prices:-

Ask them if they do price matching. If yes, just show them the sites. Other reasons I go with Broadway is the staffs seems more knowledgeable and don't have 3 staffs serving one customer I often see at Fortress and they accept Credit card dollar on par.
Bring your own bag else they still charge you for the bag regardless how much you spend. Is like they can't give you a dollar discount and charge you a dollar for the bag.

I find Broadway staff much more like salespeople on commission. They do tend to know more about what they're selling.

Fortress a bit more laid back. They tend to offer more cheaper alternatives compared to Broadway.

with both broadway and fortress, ask them about
    1- discount using YUU/Moneyback card
    2- credit card discounts
    3-free gifts

the value of 1-3 will often bring it to <RRP.

i stopped by fortress and they have stock. But they force you to buy extended warranty which cost 400 dollars. If your portal have issue, you pay 70% of the original price and they will exchange a new one for you. Guess they want to create their own apple care.
