For my extremely lame and entirely not valuable wardrobe? Yes, this, have used these during moves because, yes. And come in every possible size, only issue is getting the enormous one because can't count 2 or 3 together as one "checked luggage." Also, in the same vein, cardboard boxes. I fly to the US a couple of times a year and the Vietnamese are using these all the time to bring whatever to the USA (can tell by the names and addresses on the "luggage"). They just get a big box the size of the biggest allowable luggage and use a massive amount of packing tape. It works- if it survived USA (particularly NY and DC) baggage handlers, it will make it to Australia. Biodegradable.
I'm cautious about the cheap suitcases. I've had one before that barely got me to the airport.
If just transporting clothes, I'd be tempted to buy a duffle bag and use that.
This is the correct answer, I have several such suitcases currently (I use them for transporting tools between sites).
I never pay more than $50 for one and there's always some available to buy. I get through them pretty fast as tools definitely wear them hard.
So get your ass to Sham Shui Po and don't be too fussy.

There are, but the chances of you getting anything half decent are very low. There are plenty of 'professional' site scourers (and helpers) who respond within seconds of a post going up for anything with any remote re-sale value.
Bear in mind I have bought small suitcases for as little as $20 in SSP. So something worth just $50 in SSP that's going free on a community group will get snapped up in a heartbeat.
The dynamics of these groups are always specific to the community. I've lived in places where people give away high-end A/V equipment without blinking. I currently live in a community that will give away both high end IQAir air purifiers for example and half eaten pizza left over from yesterdays dinner. Both giveways will have takers.

Definitely both economical and durable, and accessible too.
