    Jasmine tea!

How to choose which Jasmine tea is good? I have started to like Jasmine tea.
Yesterday a colleague gave me some to try which tasted so good, much better than I used to have before. The one he has is from Beijing.
The one he has is called "Silver Needle" ( he translated the Chinese name
Where to buy reasonably priced good Jasmine tea, and how to choose? Do they allow you to taste some?

    Thanks

There's a Tea shop on the ground floor of Peninsula Centre, by the side of Auto Plaza in Mody Square (TST East). They sell all kinds of tea there and plus the accessories. Looks reasonable prices. Maybe u can check there.

You could try the Lock Cha Tea Shop which is at the Museum of Tea Ware in Hong Kong Park. From its website:

    T207 Silver Needle 銀針白猴王

This is a similar tea as T104, both of them are white tea. But the silver needle is only made with the strong buds of the first flush from the white tea trees in early spring, so the quantity is limited. Its sweet and clean fragrance and aroma is very attractive, and is thought to be an excellent drink to keep the voice (vocal cord). Brew with 80˚C water for 2 or 3 minutes.

I think you should not listen to your colleague on how expensive things are. If he is Chinese ask him to take you to a tea shop, if not then go to the tea museum which has an impressive collection of tea, then go to Great where there a tea section, where you can sip and select.
I am sure you will like both places and get what you want.

mercury, the place at the museum is useful for visitors who wish to learn more tea. I think it has free tasting there. The website is lockcha.com.

Another place to learn about tea is the Tea Gallery at University of Hong Kong's museum.

Learning leds to appreciation and knowledge which will help you to choose a tea you like.
