they are trail running shoes with metal spikes in the soles. I'm looking for another pair (got the last ones in NZ) but cannot seem to find them anywhere!

BUMP! Anyone????
'fraid not, but it's interesting to see studded shoes again (I remember when my father first took me hiking his boots had leather soles with metal studs in them). I'm not a runner, but even some of the hikes I do I think I would benefit from that technology... please let us know if you do find them (if all else fails you could even resort to emailing the manufacturer!)

Thanks! Yes - I have emailed the manufacturer and am waiting a response. I will order from overseas if they give me a link.
I used my old (falling apart) pair on Saturday for a hike involving very slippery stream rocks and also a slippery mud path afterwards. Great hike, but I was practically glued to the rocks while others in Teva's (renowned for good grip on wet rocks) were sliding around and was incredibly impressed by the lack of slip on the (wet clay substance) path afterwards! Hence the desire to buy a new pair - I googled all sorts of "river" shoes and none of them offered studs. Seems Icebug are the only ones to realise the potential, and even they promote them for ice-running rather than as a specialist hiking shoe!
