    Pomegranate Molasses

Does anyone know where I can buy Pomegranate Molasses in HK? I thought I would try to make some Persian dishes since I can't find a Persian restaurant.

Basically it is pureed pomegranate which is used to flavour middle eastern dishes. If anyone knows where to buy some, please please let me know.

Problem is I cannot find a Persian restaurant in HK - I think the pomegranate flavoring is mostly used in Persian foods. If not, please let me know.

There is pomergranate molasses in HK. I think they are available in wine cellars which sell liqueurs. I used to make cocktails myself and have bought one before, many years ago. In fact, many restaurants and fast food shops are using pomergranate molasses to make fruit punch, but I'm not sure if it's the same one used in making persian dishes. Also, I think I've bought one from a thai shop in Kowloon City. So you may try the liqueur shops, supermarkets like Citysuper and thai supermarkets.

I just recalled its proper name: Grenadine. You may buy a mixed fruit punch in a fast food shop and see if it's the same molass you are looking for. It comes in big bottles just like wine and is under $30, but few places have it because few people buy it. You may ask people in restaurants you know well if they can sell you one.

Thanks Valencia, alas it is not the same thing. The pomegranate molasses I am looking for is quite thick and a very very dark red/purple color. But thank you for your suggestions.
