Moving from HK to Singapore

I have a friend who pays 3500SGD right now in Taman Warna (near Holland Village) - for a house with a small garden. The houses are _very_ plain, but it is a really lovely place and I would not know any other place where 3500 gets you anything outside a high rise.

3500 for taman warna? I doubt it's that cheap now. When was that lease signed?

For those moving to Singapore and looking for family-friendly neighbourhoods, consider:
1. Holland area (www.hollandproperty.com.sg)
2. Bukit Timah area (www.mrbukittimah.sg)

Both have easy access via MRT. Also many international schools, parks and nature.
