I think the airport runs the same way.
Then you have not exited Hong Kong as you haven't entered another territory.

Macau Ferry or China Ferry Terminal is easier, just buy the cheapest ferry ticket on offer, go through HK immigration and get to the pier level then find the escalator going back up to arrival hall and then pass through immigration again.

    Visa activated Woohooo

    Is that legal?

(Never had a visa so never had to do this. Advised others to pop to Macau.)

Do you technically have to exit HK territory? Or that is just the method to be presented to an immigration officer. Plus, Macau doesn't stamp passports anymore anyway.

I have heard off people that has done this and thinking about it, seems technically once you have passed HK immigration, you have left HK, off course your still on HK soil and legally belong to the transportation company who are responsible for you but immigration wise you have left

may be I am wrong and if that is case I take my post back and advise people to do a quick Macau Run, less Visa hassle than China Visa

You can ask the officer when you collect your visa. He told me to do the China or Macau route. You just tell the officer when leaving what you are doing and the officer upon entry. I didn't try either as I actually went on a trip and activated it on my way back in.

Or pay 500 for return boat ticket, 500 for macau food and loose a gazillion dollars in the casino and come back to HK with just your underwear and slippers LOL

If you wait long enough I believe there is no way they could know as Macau doesn't stamp passports anymore either. You can take a lift down to water level and then back up.
