Easy Budget friendly 2nd Passport / Citizenship

    Hi,

Recently a few of my Hong Kong friends are thinking to leave the city in the long/medium term (for obvious reasons).

They are looking for budget friendly / easy option to get a second passport, preferably in a developed country where there are job opportunities.

My friends aren't wealthy so can't afford costly investment VISAs from countries like Australia, UK, Malta, etc. They have University degrees and have a few years work experience but aren't high demand professionals like Doctors / Lawyers etc

Does anyone here have any suggestions or experience in getting a 2nd passport from other countries?

    Thanks!

    Singapore
They're welcoming foreign nationals left right and centre.

I was also going to suggest Singapore, but I believe it does not allow dual citizenship so there would be no "2nd" passport.

Latin America - Have heard a friend mention Paraguay and Uruguay in the past (have not refreshed my knowledge about this in 5-6 years).

Malta was at around EUR 2M. Spain is also expensive.

Do they need a 2nd passport or just residency?

Greece had a real estate investment visa for 250,000 euros, if it's still going. They'd have to live there for 5 years I think. The issue there would be employment I reckon... well and possibly language.

Passports of convenience then in developed countries with plenty of job opportunities?

    10 years too late.

Need to check where dual citizenship is permitted, but this list is from this year.
