    MPF withdrawal rejected

    Hey all,

My application for mpf withdrawal was rejected because I made it too early! Actually nine months before the actual departure. Lol.They said it should be a minimum of six months before I make the claim.

Well, didn't know about that but has anyone faced a situation like this?

    Have a nice day!

ah too bad to hear! i know we spoke about it, did not even know this was a rule! its nowhere in the documents i have seen so far. If you are still 9 months here, do you have at least worth for 3 months income to cover till you can apply again?

I think you might be able to get it resolved by a high court case but not sure i am sorry.

I think a better way to get it resolved is sit on your arse and do nothing for 3 months and then apply again.

Trebor, jrkob, East_coast and 3 others like this.

The good news is I can apply for it again. I won't be waiting for the whole nine damn months. It's my money. I told them I was unaware of that rule and that I want to leave earlier. That makes me wonder, what would happen if I don't leave? (after the withdrawal).

I'm really confused. Are you still working? I'm trying to get my mpf out right now, I'm leaving next week and they refuse to let me submit anything because my final salary hasn't been paid yet - how are some people allowed to do this 6 months before?!

I recently did this so let me share, You cannot submit withdrawal request as you leave. The way it was for me was, my agency was kind enough to collect all withdrawal documents from me. They notified the MPF provider that I have terminated employment with them and the last contribution has been paid. The withdrawal documents are then submitted. My timeline was, left in April, last contribution in May (since had residual April Salary), notice of termination sent mid May, received my funds in my bank account last week.

That's interesting - when you say "agency" was that your employer or someone you hired to do that?
