Early withdrawal of MPF - How long for the processing time?

Halo, I am about to leave hong kong in early October, but I am just arranged for withdrawal by today. So, actually how long it takes to wait for the MPF to be done? Did anyone has an experience like less than a month to wait? Feel free to share it, I need more informations about it, instead of calling them and emailing even directly come to their office. Thanks a lot for sharing.

my experience was within a month. IRD obviously needs to sign off that all taxes are paid.

I left hk and money was transferred to my account. So do not close your bank account.

I think mine took just a bit over a month. Did my leaving HK declaration in early June. Taxes mid June. Chq. arrived end July.

Note: HSBC wouldn't pay it into my account because it was a joint account. So instead they posted it to a friend in HK who deposited in the bank for me - ridiculous!!

So, do you think possible to put the flight date in less than a month? Bcs, they said that I should have the itinerary first.

So, at that time, are you already in your home country but the cheque is not yet done?

Yes - we left July 11th and cheque arrived July 29. My last salary was paid June 30th.

My wife is still waiting for her MPF but her last salary payment wasn't until August 15th so I think they cannot process the MPF until your last salary is paid.

You do not need to stay in Hong Kong to collect it as long as you have a way to get it to your bank account. No need to close Hong Kong bank account.
