Ah! So, it sounds like I have to deal with IRD every year after I have left HK until the RSUs granted during my HK assignment are fully vested. Thanks, DeletedUser! Beak-up is always hard.

Hey DeletedUser, hope this note finds you well. I left Hong Kong in January and now live in the US. I'm trying to figure out how much tax I will need to pay IRD for my unvested stock compensation in the future. Do you still get the personal allowance every year when you file the revised tax return? Thanks in advance!

I don't want to open a new post, so I try to add my question here.

I am planning to physically leave HKG in April, but stay employed and work from Europe until July. My company is happy with that, but they are clueless with tax clearance, called the hotline several times last week but in vain and sent email but still no response.

I/ we would like to clear taxes in August. Would that be possible? For obvious reasons I do not intend to come back to HKG just to do a tax clearance.

Thanks a lot for any insights/ links where I can find this info
