    MPF Withdrawal Application Timeframe

Does anyone know roughly how long it takes for the early mpf withdraw process to be processed given you are permanately departing from Hong Kong? (For those who already withdrew your mpf early due to various reasons). I am going to submit my form next week but was wondering how long it would take.

I think mine took about 4 weeks to reach my bank account. (HSBC)

Mine was with AIA and although, they had said that it'd take around three months to complete the procedure, I received the funds in less than a month.

Actually might have been nearer 6. Certainly my final mpf contribution was on June 16th 2020 and I received my mpf cheque on July 28th 2020

Just keep in mind that if you have a last pay check, you will have to wait till the last payment hits your MPF account before starting the withdrawal.

Can you withdraw MPF after leaving HK without taking an oath prior to leaving? It would be very tough to fly back just to take an oath now. Kinda need MPF to settle income tax. Covid really messes up things. If anyone knows, please help advise. Thank you!

I asked my MPF provider about taking the oath abroad and they said this:

Yes, the statutory declaration made in a place other than Hong Kong is also acceptable provided that it is made before and signed by a Notary Public or a person authorized under the law of that place to administer an oath or take a statutory declaration.

Out of curiosity is the amount you receive comparable with your last statement or do the providers gouge you as you are closing the account?

Mine and my wifes were pretty much the value of the account prior to the close. I don't think there are any withdrawal charges. Of course if there was a big change in the performance of the underlying fund(s) in the last few days that might affect it. I put mine into a safe fund for the final month or so.
