Edinburgh is absolutely beautiful and I would 100% choose it over Glasgow, and it also seems like a better fit for you personally

Edinburgh. Hardly even a question! Glasgow is not a nice place.

Everything I know about Glasgow I learned from watching the crime show Taggart. Show even killed the lead actor, doesn't give you warm feelings about Glasgow...

    In that case Glasgow.
If you were planning to move to England then I'd say Edinburgh.

I worked in Glasgow for six years. It was fine. Better than expected really. I remember going up for an interview and arriving about ten in the evening. That was a bit scary but otherwise it was fine. If you stay in the 'civilised' areas, avoid wearing team colours then it's quite a nice little city. A bit of everything and far less tourist traffic than Edinburgh.

Not surprised you didn't like it. A authentic, generous and friendly city full of character might not be your thing.

They do say, that you have more fun at a Glasgow funeral than you do at an Edinburgh wedding.

Except it stays light until 11pm in the summer and the sun rises just few hours later!

Visited Glasgow for the first time a month ago. I was pleasantly surprised. Some fantastic buildings, architecture, nice eating places and a few good museums as well. I actually intend going back soon to explore more fully.
