Tried registering and it takes you to WhatsApp customer service instead. Got a reply unable to register since I am not in HK. They send simcard registered post and need signatures!

Returning HK for a month in October so desperate to get hold of a HK SIM to use immediately after landing and whilst in q hotel!
Globalism store have many packages for BNO/ UK and they can send the SIM to you overseas too. Not sure how they do that without doing the Real Name SIM registration with HK government! Anyone ordered a sim from Globalism store from overseas recently with success?

Real name registration doesn’t come in until 2023

From what I've read this date march 2023 is the deadline for current existing users to register by. As from 1 March 2022 phase 2 program all new SIM must be registered before activation.

Hi did the activation done overseas or in HK? I am still confused with this real name registration process. Is it done via HK govt website or thru the mobile operators? what network used by them? My Chinese not great but can more or less understand the various packages that are available. Basically I just need a long term HK number to use overseas to receive bank and govt text message and verification codes etc. No need roaming abroad but will want to use the same number when I am on short trips back to HK.

The provider will give you a link. You just upload your ID.

Im using globalsim, cost $50HKD a year for 1G of data, no minutes or SMS. Receiving sms is free. Dunno if they post the sim overseas but you could easily get someone to go to their little shop buy and post it, they will need to fill a form tho.

Update: ordered and received 2x SIM from them from HK to UK. Insert SIM to phone turned roaming on but no network detected. Went into settings and can see Three HK APN but no other carriers APN. I thought it's a matter of inserting the SIM into phone and automatically configure the settings? Have WhatsApp them see if get a response. So far not impressed!

Btw on their website it says UK carrier is Vodafone. HK it's 3HK. Not sure how that could be to use a competitor network. Strange business practice?
