Honestly, if your sons live their entire life in Singapore until they're 18, they might as well. That's part of being a member in society, and as while there are quite a few really unreasonable issues (Korean 2nd gen PRs have to serve two years here two years there...) I think this is better than potentially graduating school here and then being kicked out of the country.

Unfortunately my move to Singapore will be postponed. My serviced apartment, 2 bedrooms, in River Valley, close to Clarke Quay is non refundable, but dates adjustable would be available for transfer. in case anyone is interested, PM me

“If companies want to set up their operation in Singapore to take advantage of the safety, the political environment, they have to hire Singaporeans,” he said. “[Expats in Hong Kong] have to make do with their circumstances. If they cannot, they have to go back to where they came from.”

Has anyone on the forum made the move yet that is still here?
I want to know if moving to SG on a HKD salary is pretty much like for like?
I see that housing is cheaper, but some other stuff is a little higher.

Are there any obvious contractual/salary/unexpected costs to watch out for?
(Been told to relocate, but my package is staying the same)

As long as the backdrop is "it's a small world after all" and children crying, I'm ok with that.

Cockroaches. Ratio of flying ones to non-flying a lot higher compared to HK.
