How long does Police Check (CNCC) take typically?

Hi I need to have an appointment with US embassy scheduled after they get the CNCC from HK police. How long does it typically take for them to send the CNCC. The official website says within 4 weeks, but anecdotally it seems it can be much faster. Does anyone have any experience with CNCC times?

Where have you heard it's much faster? In my experience it's just under 4 weeks until it's received by the organisation requesting it.

Police check for my employer (about 5 years ago) took only couple of weeks. A friend told me that their CNCC got done in three weeks.
Looking to gather more recent experiences here

My husband and I have both done them this year and they took the full 4 weeks.

Have you booked the appointment with the police yet? They're booking several months in advance at the moment.

Thanks for the information and so kind of you to share it. This is very helpful.

Yes, I have an appointment for next week. Was it a problem getting the right document stating you need the police check and address of the embassy? Were they strict about it?

You need to take the request letter from whomever requires the CNCC along to your appointment. How hard it is to get I guess will depend on where you're trying to get this letter from? It was easy for me as the consulate in question was very used to producing these letters for HK residents. It take them a few days though, they needed copies of our HKID to prepare the letter. I'd get that ready asap.
