Assuming 400K pa, that's 267K for 8 months. Tax on that (excluding MPF 8K) is 13,670 less tax reduction (8K) for a total of 5,670.

The 4 months for this year is 133K (excluding MPF 4K) is $420.

A total for the 08/09 and 09/10 tax years is $6,090 by my calculations.

Six grand isn't much for a year's tax.

So should she call the Tax office to get details or tax bill so she can pay this? or let her HR get it once they notify the Tax office?

She has to contact her MPF provider to withdraw accrued benefits.

And an FYI from the government's MPF website:

Question: If I withdraw my accrued benefits on the ground that I am leaving Hong Kong permanently, can I come back to work in Hong Kong again in the future?

Answer: Yes. But you will have to participate in an MPF scheme again. You may also want to note that the withdrawal of accrued benefits for this reason can only be made once in your lifetime.
