I guess any kind of contact sports (Boxing, Muay Thai, etc) would not work out well with glasses on your nose. Running, hiking etc should not be a problem. Water sports on the other hand a very tricky. You could wear contact lenses under your mask, but that doesn't work for everyone, or use prescription masks. If your sport involves hanging upside down for a while, contacts might be the better solution too
For me the best solution was Lasik. No real side effects so far (2 years after).
Does that help?

I agree with what 100LL wrote. But let me add some few points. When it comes to physical activity, sports, or exercise, contacts provide:
- better depth perception
- complete peripheral vision
- they don't steam up from perspiration
- they don't smudge and get foggy if you go from cold to warm temperatures
But most importantly, they stay on your eyes, even during vigorous activity.
From a safety stand point, one, with contact lenses, can avoid potential injury that could result from broken frames and shattered spectacle lenses.
One problem with contact lenses in my experience is you have the toric type for astigmatism - when you sweat a lot into your eyes then the lenses don't hold their alignment very well, which does reduce the quality of your vision (but not as much as steamed up glasses, obviously).
i am considering lasik because it is the most convenient choice for someone that does alot of sports. but thanks for the advice everyone!
