Ah... Wasn't aware of that - so we've been 'breaking the law' when boarding East Rail train carriages with detached front wheel of bikes? (Usually get on towards end of train.) No one blinked or came running over to stop us... so far

As with any law, it doesn't really matter what the by-law is, it's how it's applied in practice that matters. If you put your bike in a bag and don't make a nuisance of yourself you should be fine.

If twenty of you turn up, take over a whole carriage, block the doors and injure old ladies with your spiky pedals they'll apply the by-law.

Thanks for the note...there're just a few MTB with slow riders. We'll take the contour trail instead of the ridge trail and try to get out of the way.

The hikers won't be starting until about 10:45 or so, and they'll be walking from the To Tei Wan end along the ridge then continuing on the HK Trail down to Big Wave Bay. I guess you'll be gone before they arrive. But Dragon's Back on any Sunday is going to be quite crowded...

The only MTB trail that I can complete in the morning and return home before lunch without taking any transportation
