This place in Sheung Wan: Fun 'N snow, FNS ski & snowboard equipment, skiing shop in Hong Kong, skis, ski boots, snowboard, skiwear, ski jacket, pants, shoes, goggles, gloves, helmet, protective. Ski maintenance & repair,

Chamonix sells clothing that could be used for skiing, but no dedicated ski gear such as boots, skis or poles. They *might* sell avalance gear- trancievers, shovels and BD Avalungs.

The new store on Lyndhurst Street is a small Patagonia store. It's basically a yuppie outdoor clothing store. They've got some insulated snowboard jackets and pants, a range of Black Diamond gloves, but that's about it- again, only clothing and no equipment.

I would really avoid Fun N Snow. Went in there twice to try and buy some equipment. Embarrassingly awful customer service. The bloke in charge had an American accent but could not be ruder or less interested in his customers. I was really shocked. A distinctly dodgy experience and one that I would recommend that you avoid. Very, very poor.

That just about sums up every outdoor shop experience I have had since moving to HK - even the "better" ones. They just DO NOT hire staff who have any idea what the stuff is used for and thus are unable to give any customer service. I now do all my research online before venturing out of the house (ok, boat)... whereas in Aus and NZ I used to have good chats with the staff in shops who all hiked/skiied/kayaked etc and were a great source of info!

You might be better placed buying in whereever it is that you will be skiiing (or hiring) - and you save the one-way transportation costs too!

Fun N Snow is the only retailer in hk for ski/snowboard equipment, not surprising as hk has no snow, alternatively, I believe shenzhen window of the world's snow dome has a store selling ski/snowboard equipment, but are you willing to travel ??
