    interested in Adult Ballet

Anyone interested in joining an Adult Ballet class?

Ballet helps you to improve posture, flexibility, and simply become more graceful and body aware.

I found a great teacher and I am now trying to put a group together - for a group class, the cost will be very reasonable, compared to what you can find in ballet schools in HK. The class would most likely take place on the HK Island side in a weekday evening.

PM me or post here if interested. Both female and male are welcome!

    Some update:

We just booked the studio today! (and it was challenging...)

The class will take place in Sheung Wan, every Sunday 5-6 pm, starting 23 October.

The teacher is a former ballerina trained in Vaganova (Russian) school. She is the ONLY Russian trained ballet teacher in Hong Kong!!

    We are still accepting students.

The invitation is still open - we are starting this Sunday, 23 October.

If you are not sure about starting ballet as an adult, here is an excellent video from an adult ballet class in Moscow

    http://youtu.be/RKXUCR7360g

And some benefits of ballet for adults include:
    - body toning and muscle development (you'll get to know muscles you never knew about!)
    - improved posture, coordination and grace
    - brain exercise (yes!! some brain power needed to remember the steps and listen to the music)
    - artistic development (something that yoga cannot give you... ballet IS a performing art!)

Wasn't Luckycat a big fan of the ballet? Preferred it to football didn't he?

    Ladies (??)

The class in Sheung Wan is no more. There is a lot of schools in Hong Kong which offer adult ballet classes, you can have a more or less complete list here:
Where to learn ballet in Hong Kong: the most comprehensive list of Hong Kong ballet schools on the Internet

Melissa Kong school of ballet (as in post #7) is one of them. From what I know, the prices offered there are on the lower end of the range in Hong Kong - may be a good option for you.

In general, I always recommend try as many schools as possible before settling in on one or two that woud meet our development needs. But if you are beginner you may not know what these needs are )) so just make sure the teacher in the class does not only take you through the ballet exercise but also take time to explain the placement and show which muscles should be working for each move - this is really important in ballet and usually is not found in any other type of exercise.
