    hong kong sevens tickets

    Hi,
Ive come across this site while trying to find out how to get tickets for the rugby march 2008.
I have bought my flight tickets not realizing that it was so difficult to get the tickets at a reasonable price.
I dont mind paying a fair price put bidding on ebay etc fills me with dread and I dont want to get ripped off.

This is a special retirement trip for my rugby mad hubby any suggestions gratefully received.

    many thanks

I believe if you join one of the HK rugby clubs, you get access to tickets. You will still have to pay for them (in addition to the rugby club dues) but you pay face value and you will get them. I don't think there is any other way to guarantee tickets.
Otherwise you will need a friend with access to them.
If you don't have tickets, you'll be stuck watching it on the big-screen in the tent.

Sounds like you're from out of town? Try contacting your local rugby union club. A lot of tickets are allocated to overseas clubs to sell to their members, so it's either you have to be one or know someone. Also, there are travel agencies that offer flights-accomodation-rugby tickets, but since you already purchased your flight tickets, this may not be an option. If I'm correct, about 6,000 of these tickets are sold to the public in HK and there have been scrums over it every year. People lined up very early in the morning, some even sleep by the stadium to get it so if you know someone living here you might want to ask them a huge favour.

Join a local rugby club as a social member - if you can't find any PM me.

There's also a whole pile of lead up events that will open up for you if you do it that way as well(dinners etc with international speakers).

It depends what you mean by a "box". The fancy areas up the top, some with rooms behind, have a waiting list of some years I believe. The reserved seating areas downstairs are a bit easier to come by. You need to contact the HKRFU for details. Neither is cheap.
