    First stories

    Hi all!

Lots of poker action this week... and APPT ambiance is/was great!

So far, Kai has been our best Geo representative... I will let him the honors of telling his stories, but congrats!

On my part, good Saturday run : played 3 of the cheap (100 US) sit & gos at APPT, finished one 1st and one 3rd... Thank you luck and easy Chinese money! Some v. good players (bored and/or kicked out of the main), but it is really worth it!

Games at Starworld much more tighter, thanks to lots of familiar faces, but still some good fishing.
I'm sad to be working this Sunday and miss the final action... but I count on you for having/sharing good poker moments!

    See you all soon!

Now Macau is shaping up to be a nice day trip. They also have either installed or are planning to install poker tables there as well. Im in for next sunday any body else want to roll them bones?

Fred, glad to hear that you were ended up making some dough as well this weekend...

I played in the satellite Thursday, and decided to cash out in 11th place (out of 160+ players), take the small payout rather than going thru 3 more days of tourney at the big game on Fri thru Sunday.

The action at the satellite was excellent, had good cards early and knocked out 2 or 3 players in first table, and then got the high stack out in the middle rounds...action was quite tense in the final 2 tables...came back as the low stack in the final two tables, with only $8K chips and blinds at $2k/$4K....got lucky with 5 consecutive strongs hands to bring me into probably 5 or 6th place in chips total when we got to final 11 players....

Then i decided to take the proverbial 'bird in the hand rather than 2 in the bush' and take the 11th place money by essentially throwing away my chips in my last hand (only a king high hand which easily lost to a Ace pairs hand).

If I had more time, next time, I will stick around to play in the big tourney...overall, excellent fun in my first official tourney....

always good to have the "craps" in the morning to empty out your back pockets!!!

Mike I saw a Live Craps table at the GRAND Waldo (taipa) (not to be mistaken with the 'not so grand' Waldo (macau). They've also one electronic poker table - alhtough the blinds were a litle steep at 100 dollars. However it might be because some of the high rollers knocked out in the poker came over to play serious ..

    My bad

I don't know why, I suddenly had a strange feeling of "deja-vu" when I received the infos about the tournament : www.hkgameclub.com, sponsored by Patron, lots of advertising, "supposed to be" big prize at the end but crap otherwise... mmmm, not sure if I'm interested in playing it anymore!

Anyway, I'm up for some poker action tomorrow, just let me know (I could even host if I'm in a good mood) and this 300$-2drinks tourny still remains as a (last) option.

    Cheers

    will the final ever happen

im not entirely sure we should be advertising the MINT competition seeing as the organisers of Volar were the HK game club in addition to the sponsors being Patron

Im after all still awaiting the final for which i qualified legitemitely.

To add insult to injury on the website hkgameclub when you go to event 4 and click on the Mint website link it takes you to the Volar website ...

Fred you intetrested in goin gto the horse races on sunday?

    No horse

Sorry Hamish, horse are a no-do this Sunday as I am... working, as usual. Anyway, I'm not a big connoisseur either, so keep the spot for some real horse gambler!

See you Friday guys, or maybe tomorrow (but not for this tournament).

    Regards
