Sailing - Take HKSF certified or ASA certified courses?

Hello All. Summer is here and I really want to learn a new outdoor sport this year! Im totally new to sailing and interested in taking courses to sail a boat like Keelboat. I did a bit of research about the available courses but I don't know which certification I should pick... A few clubs are offering HKSF certified courses and only Hong Kong Catamaran Club is offering ASA certified courses. Does anyone know which certification is better for beginner like me?

I would assume that mainly depends on where you will do the most sailing. I have the HKSF certificates and that is recognized at every club/gov centers in hk. Pretty sure that's not the case for the ASA cert. with that said, I'm sure I'd have to go through some hurdles later on if I want to sail in the US.

Glad to here there's another soon to be sailor on this forum. It really is a lot of fun...given the right weather conditions.

HKSF is for dinghy sailing, ASA is for yacht sailing.
