Never made it back from Seoul with a medal...and he quickly went from 'Canadian Sprint King Ben Johnson' from the few years before Seoul (when he was repeatedly beating Carl Lewis), to 'Jamaican-born disgraced sprinter Ben Johnson' after...but even national heroes like Donovan Bailey (who kicked the Yanks collective ass IN ATLANTA) was never toured around afterwards...
maybe a bit of tall poppy syndrome in us....happy to our athletes do well but not to get too ful of themselves...

Report in the SCMP sports today that at least 1 GB medallist from rowing will visit schools and sports clubs (prob for free) to share her Oly experience with kids...contrast this with the news that the PRC Gold Medal winners HK tour sold out in 1 hour to people who think Lin Dan's tattoos are cool...
