Kayaking is a common sight between Sai Kung Beach and the Tai Mong Tsai area. I also regularly see large groups of Kayaks on Castle Peak Bay once in awhile, so can only assume they were coming from the Gold Coast Marina direction, there must be a hire place located nearby. You might be able to hire them in Lung Kwu Tan also, as they have a lot of water sport activities at the beach there.

    Gold Coast Beach
Sai Kung Beach - Tai Mng Tsai has a Kayaking or Canoe Association of HK located there too .

Anyway, its all going to be bay kayaking, as rivers for kayaking purposes dont exist here.

LCSD used to have kayaking lessons at Castle Peak Beach just before Tuen Mun...check out the LCSD website www.lcsd.gov.hk, maybe they do rentals as well...
