    Short-Term Gym Memberships?

Does anyone know if short-term memberships are available at any gyms? I'm not sure how long I'm going to be in Hong Kong and don't want to commit to a 12 or 18-month membership, which is what I was offered when visiting California Fitness and Physical. (Physical does offer a month-to-month membership, but it's way too expensive at 700HKD/mo). Thanks.

Thanks...but I'm looking for something a bit longer...something like 3 months, 6 months, or payable on a monthly basis. Anyone know what gyms have these options?

You're not going to get cheaper than $700 / month at the private gyms for short term contracts. Best bets are to try the Govt Gyms, which are pretty well equipped.

the problem with the government gyms is you need to do an induction course with them first. The wait for one of these courses is a few months.

Depending on where you are- the Guangdong Wharney in Wanchai has a pretty good gym and splash pool you can join monthly at a good rate- same with the Novotel.
Seasons in Central/Admiralty are the same but pricier though they do have an off-peak package if you are flexible.
Forget Fitness First- I tried to go in there the other day just to get some prices but they wanted my life history and would then get an account manager to call me back! I thought I'd wandered into a bank by mistake!
