can anyone confirm I am not getting ripped off by being offered a membership for the price of 280hkd/month at CF.
This is assuming lump sum payment for 2 years.

Which branch is that at, and is that for any time?

I've recently heard of 260 for 12 months but only for weekdays and only at one branch in Taikoo.

    Hmm...

I paid $400 joining fee, plus $750 per month at Fitness First for 3 months, since i'll only be in HK for about 3 months. Was this a rip-off? Now I see that people are paying much less than I did...

To pay alot less you have to sign up for the rest of your life (or 2 years, whichever is the shorter! ) - no, I don't think you were ripped off. You pay for the flexibility to quit.

I read somewhere here that if you have membership at 24 Hour Fitness in the US, you can get into California Fitness with it? Do they scan it every time to make sure that it's not expired? I used to have 24 Hour membership in California but switched to another place...wonder if I can use my old pass in HK?

Otherwise, there was a great deal prepay for 2 years deal on 24 Hour Fitness for USD $12.50 (~$100 HKD) per month or a month-to-month deal for $30 USD/month (~$230 HKD). Both sounds like would be cheaper than signing up at California Fitness in HK, right?

From what I gather California membership use is in the region of 20%.
It would be worth while not having a contract and paying HK$400/month or more.

Latest advert for California is $333 per month. Anyone using it and any hidden costs?

They seem to have removed the 24hr Fitness logos from their ads especially in the TST and H Hom Clubs.
