    morning trail - lit at night?

    is the morning trail up to the peak lit at night?

    Yes and no. Some sections toward the bottom are unlit and you have to watch out for mountain bikers, runners and even tons of frogs at this time of year. Where there are frogs there are almost always snakes too.

    There is so much light pollution in HK that you don't need additional light for the unlit parts if your eyes have adapted to the dark.

    Some sections may be darker as there will be foliage overhead- a phone is sufficient for these sections.

    I've never seen a snake on the Morning Trail. I suspect it sees to much traffic for snakes to lounge around on.

    Generally you can run or hike on any trail in HK with a decent headlamp - all the hiking shops sell them. Pay more and get more lumen if you are a runner though as you'll need it.
