    Proteinnnnnn Powder

    Hey guys,

Where could I buy some reputable branded Whey Protein Isolate?
The only ones I've seen are at Mannings and I'm not sure if I like the brand.
Also checked a couple of supermarkets like City Super and Aeon, but couldn't find any.

I used to use Optimum Nutrition and Dymatize, hoping to find something similar.

    Living in NT btw.

Thanks in advance, lift heavy bros..

    Dan

Do a search on iHerb? Seems very popular in HK for ordering all kinds of spices, ingredients and other hard to get products. I just did a search on there for protein powders (as I'd like some) and there's roughly 1000 products. Shipping's cheap: http://www.iherb.com/

Depending on where you are in NT, go to Nature's Village:

I hear that braaiiinnnnss have lots of proteinnnnnn, but this only works if you're a zombie.

Otherwise, just use iHerb for ludicrously cheap shipping. GNC stuff is available at the slightly larger Mannings/Watsons stores and some department stores.

I'm not sure about the "high quality" part though as I am convinced that once you settle on a particular type (e.g. whey) it's probably all the same and anyone that tells you differently is likely to have a vested interest.

There are definitely differences between brands--pure WPI isn't cheap, so companies get around it by cutting it with whey protein concentrate or even milk and soy(!) powder in some cases. If you're not lactose intolerant, whey protein concentrate will be much cheaper if you shop around. I can't handle the lactose, so I use WPI during the day and casein at night.

Other things to watch out for are undesirables like aspartame and lecithin...

Okay, so a bit of a noob at living in HK..

How does it work if I buy stuff online? Do they need to get someone at the apartment to sign for it? Where do they leave it if Im not there?

If you buy from iherb.com and use DHL, you have to sign for it - but they deliver in the evenings, up to 10pm I think.

And if you buy from iherb.com, use the code LUC793 to get $10 off your first order of $40 or more, or $5 off your order if it's less than $40.

    (getting in first... hehe)

I see, so when you order, you can specify what time roughly for them to make a delivery attempt?
I'm just thinking of making a trek out to MK or Central to visit one of the stores like BC or GL.
