    Friendly Poker!

    Hey!

Recent American University graduate here finding the lack of friendly poker games (non-rake/casino run) quite depressing. Looking to start a friendly weekly/biweekly poker game for anyone interested. Something small like 2/5 HKD. Buy-in whatever you please! We'd play in a board games cafe since i'm pretty good friends with the owners. Anyone interested!

It's illegal I wouldn't advertise this on a public forum if I was you.

Shouldn't be spreading such info around, you'll get busted for gambling

I'm pretty clear with the rules, i was told a non raked game among friends is perfectly fine? similar to mahjong games before banquets

If "non-raked" means that there is no cost to enter the venue, no minimum spend or anything like that, and that all the stakes are redistributed amongst the players with nothing going to the venue (and none of the players is in any way related to the venue as an owner or employee), then I think you're OK legally.

But the police here do have a record of raiding poker games in commercial establishments. You'd be better off in someone's home.
