I don't see how that makes it legal in Hong Kong. NBC does not have the right to transmit the Winter Olympics in Hong Kong. Taking your personal information doesn't give them that right.

Tough, tough break for the Finns to be without Rask due to illness. Swedes can really skate. They'll be a formidable foe for either US or Canada.

It is a subscriber based service that allows you to own or in this case, "lease" the equipment, DVR, and service that is hosted in the US. It is consider place shifting and is the essence of a Slingbox which allows and was created for remote viewing. It is not a direct NBC stream, but is a service that provides NBC and other channels as a subscriber based model. It is used quite a bit by US servicemen and women and citizens abroad along with more expensive multiple channel services as well.
