A week of no sleep and a night of numerous pints did me in . . . Didn't learn of the US/Canada result until this A.M. Still lots of quality hockey left to determine who goes home with what hardware.

Not much sleep as well. Great game. 1:0 sounds like soccer but both teams had their chances. Best game by far. They really know the game. Nevertheless Sweden will be tough. What's the different between the Sochi rink and the rinks in the NHL?

The Gods of Sport are oh so generous. In addition to the bronze medal game today, we get EPL. After the gold medal game tomorrow, we'll have the Daytona 500.

Huja have you followed the Richard Petty/Danica Patrick saga? Petty offering a head to head race now (he's 76yo)...

Yep. This sort of grumbling about Danica has been going on for years. It's just never come from the mouth of such a NASCAR icon. I don't think there is any upside for either driver if they race head-to-head. It'll just be a Bobby Riggs/Billie Jean King-style side show.

For Petty, he'd embarrass himself driving a modern Sprint car. For Danica, it's just more ammo to the argument that she is more side-show than competitive driver.

Interest in NASCAR has been on the wane and the governing body seems to change the rules every season (and sometimes in the middle of the season) to try to drum up more interest. It seems to want to be all things to all people.

Canada's in the final in the only sport that matters. Bring home the gold boys!

To be honest, oval track (esp. restrictor plate draft-a-thons) lost my interest long ago.

Couldn't agree more . . . Daytona and 'Dega are just linked pairs making boring laps until the Big One comes along. Winning and losing at those events have less to do with good driving than it does with dumb luck. Wish there were more road course races. Would go to the Sonoma race from time to time. Fine wine and NASCAR is an underrated combo. Short tracks are fun. Night race at Bristol is a GREAT time. Should do it some time.
