Really hope Fed wins one more this year. His best years are well behind now and it would be a fitting reward to cap off an amazing career. He and rafa took the game to a new level.

Wimbledon 2008, Men's Final
Nadal over Federer
6–4, 6–4, 6–7(5–7), 6–7(8–10), 9–7
One of the top three greatest sporting events I've ever watched in my long, sports-addicted life.
I have to congratulate Eugenie Bouchard, the first time a Canadian has advanced into the semi-finals at Wimbledon. She will face a tough opponent from Simona Halep (The 2014 French Open finalist who lost to Sharapova). Objectively speaking, I think Halep is the better player, so my money would be on her to advance. However, my heart is for Bouchard, I will cheer her all the way. I hope Bouchard wins the championship.

Huja was that the one Federer couldn't say anything at the end? Just broke down in tears?
I love Federer. Every stroke is majestic. We he and Henin dominated world tennis, it really was a feast for the lovers of pure tennis technique.
There's a reason he's still competing at the top at his age. Nadal in four years won't be.
Exactly. And John McEnroe (he was doing color for NBC) was emotional as well. He actually thanked Federer for the epic match right after it ended . . . and that's when Federer went mute and got emotional. A match for the ages. Perhaps the greatest match of all time.

Well Nadal does have the number on Federer. Federer may have won more championships, but between the two of them, Nadal is no question the better player. I don't think Federer has beaten Nadal much in the last few years, it was always Nadal coming out on top whenever they meet. And in the past, you can critique Nadal for being a specialist for winning only on clay (French Open), but now, I think he is an all-round player.
Still, this doesn't take anything away from Federer. His record show he is one of the all-time greats. Up there with Pete Sampras, McEnroe and Agassi in terms of greatness.

I remember being devastated for Federer at the end of that match. It really felt like we were witnessing a live watershed moment.

2004 SUI Roger Federer USA Andy Roddick 4–6, 7–5, 7–6(7–3), 6–4
2005 SUI Roger Federer USA Andy Roddick 6–2, 7–6(7–2), 6–4
2006 SUI Roger Federer ESP Rafael Nadal 6–0, 7–6(7–5), 6–7(2–7), 6–3
2007 SUI Roger Federer ESP Rafael Nadal 7–6(9–7), 4–6, 7–6(7–3), 2–6, 6–2
2008 ESP Rafael Nadal SUI Roger Federer 6–4, 6–4, 6–7(5–7), 6–7(8–10), 9–7
2009 SUI Roger Federer USA Andy Roddick 5–7, 7–6(8–6), 7–6(7–5), 3–6, 16–14

Oh, wow, I now remember that epic final set in 2009.

Look at the Grand Slam stats WC. I'm not into Tennis very much but I would always rank Federer on top and above all.
