    My money is on Oosthuizen
The U.S. is in great form.

18 of the top 30 players in the world.

5 of the top 6 players

11 of the top 20 players

...and it's only a matter of time until Spieth claims the #1 spot.

the U.S. Plays for majors, not Ryder cups

Yeah Jordan Spieth's 2015 form is absolute impressive and winning Augusta and the U.S.Open in the same year is something very very special. Only 6 players had ever achieved this before him. Craig Wood 1941, Ben Hogan 1953, Arnold Palmer 1960, Jack Nicklaus 1972 and Tiger Woods 13 years ago in 2002. Golf is so hard to predict and there're quite a lot of players who could win the Open Championship 2015 and Jordan Spieth is definitely one of them. Very impressed by Dustin Johnson as wel but somehow he's faltering during the final rounds especially at The U.S. Open 2015. Heartbreak as he looks mostly so calm and composed all day long. Very impressive first round yesterday!

the U.S. Players play for majors, but cannot gel as a team to win the Ryder cup

Jordan Spieth is a class act and I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled off the grand slam this year, just hope the press don't make a meal of things.

Weather worries for morning starters. St Andrews is just visible beneath all that rain.

To be honest I doubt Spieth will win this week. I think the weather will turn this tournament on its head and anyone could win it. I love the British Open with all it's history, but honestly I don't enjoy watching golf in strong winds and rain, which is often the case in the open. It's not always the best player in the field that wins, but the player who tee'd off at the favorable time of day.

If you look at yesterday's rounds, the players that tee'd off in the morning had a huge advantage.

Wow, exactly the opposite of yesterday....which creates a huge disadvantage for half the field.

Golf's not a team sport.....the Ryder Cup is important for those guys like Westwood, Poulter, Garcia etc that can't win the majors

    - Fortunate Jason Day, Louis Oosthuizen, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Paul Lawrie ...

    - Rather unfortunate Zach Johnson, Danny Willett, Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler ...
