It would be interesting to look at the spread of points in the EPL vs other top leagues and then compare the spread of financial reward throughout the league.
I suspect the EPL does spread its wealth a little more generously than other leagues.
This does not diminish the achievements of Leicester who have won against the most audacious odds but it does make the EPL the most exciting league to watch.
In contrast Real Madrid and Barcelona get 40% of the pot between them in La Liga.

So with Liverpool heading into the final of the Europa League and the winners gaining a Champion's League spot, does that impact the qualification to the Champions League via league position? i.e. does 4th place still get in or do they drop down to the Europa League?
I believe 4th place still get the Champions League...Look what happened in Spain last year: because Sevilla won the europa league they had 5 clubs in champions league at the start of the season (Real, Atletico, Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla)
