Penguins, who had carried the play for most of the third period, score early in OT for the win. Sid Crosby with the game winner and both teams head to Tampa knotted up at one game a piece. We have ourselves a series!

Blues defeated the Sharks 2-1 yesterday and that series continues in St. Louis tomorrow.

Game two of Western Conference finals about to start. Blues won a tight game one 2-1. Subplot to this game is that the San Jose coach went on about how the Blues were the most penalized team in the playoffs and it would catch up to them. Blues coach Ken Hitchcock shot back that the SJ coach was whining to the officials for more calls to go their way. I'd give $50HK to see the coaches throw off the gloves at center ice.

Sharks off to an ideal start. Their fourth line scores just 2:07 into the game and quiets the crowd. SJ 1-0 STL

In contrast to the Eastern Conference finals which has had a lot of free-flowing hockey, SJ/STL has featured a lot of traffic and hitting in the middle of the ice. Not much skating room.

STL on their heels and commit a penalty to put SJ on a power play at 8"

Blues kill off penalty and then SJ gets called for a hook. Now it's the Blues turn to have the man advantage.

Blues applying huge pressure on the PP. Do everything but score. About 40 seconds remain in pp.

Sharks carried the play for most of the period and go into intermission with a 1-0 lead.
