Ajax reallly harmless throughout the game. Expected a bit more but it's a young team. ManUnited just did enough. All credit to them. Mou's gamble paid off so far. 12 minutes to go

    Manchester United

Big congrats ManUnited & Mou. Well done. Emotional win! Rooney on '90. Maybe playing for the last time. Bye for now and all the best to the people of Manchester. Stay strong

Some would say this salvages Man United's season and indeed they now have champions league football to look forward to next year. But for a team with this much talent, which spent so much on acquisitions, to finish sixth in the league is kind of unacceptable. Not sure Mourinho's methods are the ideal fit for this group who have a ton of flair and attacking skills. Will have to see how next season goes but I wouldn't expect him to survive another sixth placed finish

Kinda agree with MrBaker. Mou took a huge gamble and it paid off. He didn't like the EL competition at all, almost despised it, but at the end it was the only route playing Champions League next season. Definitely have to do better the next domestic campaign- but all credit to them ( also happy for the people of Manchester ) You gotta win a final - it's always 50/50. Ajax below par last night imho. I think their form away from the Amsterdam Arena isn't good at all. They were lucky at Schalke and also very fortunate at the Parc OL in Lyon despite a first leg 4:1 advantage. But as said before. It's a very young team ( with lots of talent ) and you can't compare both clubs. All in all a great success for Ajax. Congrats Manchester United. Below few twitter images

    Kinda BS.

Nobody remembers who is 2nd, 3rd or 4th (and having to play CL play-offs), only the winners and qualification for next seasons CL. With being the 1st season in charge, the vast majority of previous player purchases are not of Mourinho's, he's had to play square pegs in round holes. When the final whistle went last night, the camera panned to the Utd bench to see the squad celebrating, but they looked like a bunch of geriatrics with all their crouches.

Then there's always been how Mourinho sets up his team, realistically he's never been a manager that sets up really attacking football, rather relying on power and counter-attack (Porto, Chelsea and Inter).
