    Angry Bad PURE staff! Can't put up with their arrogance

    Just had this bad encounter with PURE. They've overcharged me for like 1.5 years and I only recently found out, but they refused to make a refund! They only offered me gym usage which is useless because I've recently relocated! They have this attitude that 'We're PURE take it or leave it', horrible.

    Frankly speaking, it's a decent gym, but I feel that their rapid development has put their service level way lower than before, gyms also getting overcrowded. So do think twice before you sign up! Some of my friends have shifted to Fitness First because of that.

    Let me tell you about my experiences with Fitness First, and its crappy customer service and refusal to refund payments for services not received...

    My experience with Pure is there is one price for a single gym, and another for all gyms. These prices are non negotiable.

    Unlike some gyms the contract is well laid out and simple. You look, sign, enjoy.

    Pure over charged my wife. She thought she had cancelled (filled in all the forms, gave them to the counter staff) but they kept charging the credit card. By the time we noticed, they refused to admit any wrongdoing and refused to issue any refund. We'll never use them again.

    The contract was supposed to be terminated 1.5 years ago but they kept charging me. I never bothered to check my card bills until recently for another item I did, only then I found out they've been charging me for this whole time. I asked them for a refund, but they refused and offered me gym usage.

    Bring the cancellation form to your credit card company and dispute it there. The bank will do the dirty work for you.

    I do have to ask... how are people so inattentive that they don't spend 5 minutes, once a month, reading over their credit card statement - or a minute or two once a week checking it online? How do you miss a, presumably fairly large, charge from a gym for months, or years, when you'd taken action to cancel it? Particularly given the reputation of gyms in HK, how do you not check the first month that the payment has stopped?
