That's the game format where the Europeans did well yesterday afternoon ( CST )

    Four-Ball

A four-ball golf match, used in match play competitions, consists of two teams of two golf players competing directly against each other. Each golfer plays their own ballthroughout the round, such that four ballsare in play. A team's number of strokes for a given hole is that of the lower scoring team member.

1 hour to go until first tee off on Saturday morning ( CST ) Watched the replay of yesterday's four-ball and was impressed by the European Ryder Cup rookies Bello and Pieters. Really solid game. Also Rory and Garcia finally found their rhythm and holding their nerves. Pretty rowdy home crowd ( Golf standard ) but they handled the pressure well. After the 0:4 in the morning it's an open contest.

Spieth/ Reed finished All Square vs Garcia/ Bello and adding a half point each but what a turnaround by the Europeans. 4 down after 12 holes they looked done & dusted. Then a birdie on 13,15,17 while the Americans with bogey on 15. Great recovery. Great stuff!

    USA 6,5
    Europe 5,5

Another twist as US team won the afternoon Four-Ball 3:1 and the total score now is USA 9,5 and Europe 6,5. Thats quite a comanding lead and Europe needs a remarkable comeback on Sunday to retain the title. Not impossible but trailing by 3 points on American soil on the last day will be an uphill battle.
