    Calling all California Fitness members/employees!!

Hi I'm just curious if there is anyone out there that can help me out. I will be in HK for 3 weeks in Dec (8-30th).
I work out 5-6 days a week and would like to know if anyone knows people that work at California and can get me a couple of week passes so i can continue my workouts when i am there.

Please let me know asap as i do need somewhere to workout. Thanks for your help!!!

I don't think anyone at California fitness will give you passes for free, especially since you said that you have no intention of ever signing a contract. I doubt any of the big franchise gyms even offer 1 month contracts! Perhaps you can try one of the small local gyms and negotiate a 1 month deal. Or try hotel gyms. Nothing is for free in HK!

Hi Rainman, I am a local and personally I DO NOT recommend California Fitness at all.
Like Chimo said it's difficult to get a free pass here. Those big franchise would offer 1 month pass to visitors but mark-up with ridiculous prices, let say HKD 800up/ month.

But some of my fds joined Fitness First as a international member in AU (HKD450/ month), Malaysia and Singapore (around HKD200/month), they can access all centres worldwide but they need to sign a 12 months contract (or longer).
These offers are much cheaper than FF HK which costs around HKD500-600 and limited to HK centres only. You may contact your local FF Centre (if any) and see can you join the same membership.

Otherwise, I think the hotel gyms would be your best choice if you stay short in HK. :P

When I was scouting for gym's and trying to get the best deal I was given a 2 week free trial membership at Pure in IFC to 'test' the facilities...no obligation to join, i didnt in the end - i joined seasons...but maybe worth giving it a shot, turn up at the gym and 'enquire' about joing long term, don't mention that you are only here for 3 weeks, and say that you have been offered a free pass for a couple of weeks elsewhere but you'd prefer to sign up here etc etc...sometimes you can get things for 'free'...

Or another alterative is the South China Athletic Association in Causeway Bay. I believe they offer monthly and daily memberships. Though it's not free, but probably more resonable than any of the big commercial gyms.

when i was in hk last year i got california gym to give me a week trial. I told them that i was shopping for gyms. I hopefully they can do a two week trial and then i will go to pure life fitness in IFC. Is IFC in central? is it a new gym? how is the gym there? also is there any other pure fitness in hk?
