Running the HK Trail - Any Shops Halfway?

    Hi all,

I'm looking at running the Hong Kong Trail in one go and was wondering if there're any shops near to the trail, roughly halfway?

It would be great to buy some more water rather than carry everything I need for the full 55km. A little detour is fine, but the closer the shop is to the trail the better.

    Thanks!

I did this a few weeks ago

There is a petrol station at trail post 50 or so between 4 and 5, they only sell tiny bottles of water and green tea, but it was ok (I used the tiny bottles to refill my big ones)

    Awesome. Thank you very much!

    Any other tips? :-)

Good work on the September effort by the way

Yeah... Do it peak to big wave bay, and it's mostly nice downhill with lots of shaded sections.

I think doing it in reverse would be a challenge!

Section 7 is a killer due to boredom.

Okay, thanks. I live near HKU so was planning on reverse because I can just walk down the hill at the end and only have to take transport one way.

But will take your point in mind and might just walk up to the peak as a warm up!

If you take a short detour when close to wan chai gap, there is a playground with a kiosk. It's only a 5 mins detour.
