Switzerland always seem to do well in qualifying for such a small country. They are pretty average though when it comes to the actual tournaments, not sure they have got to the knockout stages too often. I may be wrong.
Surely they made it a couple of times into the Round of 16 ( I remember Germany 2006 when they lost to Ukraine ) and also reached the knock-out stage 1/16 in Russia but then end of the road. They have a lot of German Bundesliga players with the right attitude and a top class goalie ( Yann Sommer, a real penalty killer ) Just asked the Italians and Jorginho
